I almost don’t care if the movie doesn’t turn out as good as the trailer. Because the trailer is amazing.
Personally, I don’t know it’s because they’ve got Of Monsters and Men song or the fact that Walter Mitty the man just so happens to work at LIFE. (I actually used to work at TIME; but I always thought those old LIFE photos were pure works of art unto themselves.)
The movie is originally based on a James Thurber short story that appeared in The New Yorker back in 1939. The story has already been made into a film in 1947, but this version seems to bear little resemblance to its namesakes; the only thing it seems to have in common is the protagonist’s wildly vibrant imagination.
If you haven't caught the first trailer either, it's just as good. The Ben-Stiller-directed! film stars the man himself, Kristen Wiig, Sean Penn and Shirley Maclaine. Either way, it looks like a decent round-up of actors and should be very interesting at the very least.
One thing is definitely for sure: I can’t wait until Christmas.
