The Geographic Origins of the World’s Most Popular Cocktails

The best part about flying Singapore Airlines is that the flight attendants make you Singapore Slings so you can get crazy drunk and conk out for the rest of the flight.

But it’s easy to forget these cocktails have a whole history behind them. In fact, I’ll never forget the time I heard about how the first screwdriver was served in Hong Kong: Clark Gable walked into a bar in 1957 and asked for the drink and the Peninsula Hong Kong’s bartender came back with an actual screwdriver. And Staysure has all the deets in a cute little graphic.

Another interesting factoid: The Black Russian did not originate in Russia. Besides, this is like totally the best part about traveling, amirite? History that counts.
