Going Digital Nomad? One Packing Tip Before Moving Things Into Storage

Congrats! It is time to relive your 20s all over again, and live out of a suitcase.

Sometimes it is time to move on, after banging it for years in the same place. But when push comes to shove, this one simple trick will save so much frustration if you ever decide to return: Besides labeling those storage boxes, don’t forget to make a Google Doc or Excel spreadsheet outlining exactly what type of items are in which box, and what may be randomly stashed in an “outlier” box.

(For instance, if there is a winter coat in the kitchen box.)

After even one or two months, three years, on the road, so much will have happened that most people will be bound to forget what was randomly stashed in what, so save yourself the grief now. This one simple thing has saved us so much personal frustration over the years.

It doesn’t have to be super specific, but it should be specific enough to remember that coat.

Short, sweet, simple.
