The Complete List of Airlines Requiring Face Masks

Take it as a sign of the times! Do what you gotta do and make yourself one.

Though JetBlue was the first U.S. airline to require passengers to wear masks while traveling, quite honestly, we're more surprised that this hasn't happened yet. Expect it to become the new gold standard in flying.

Some international airlines have already started instituting their own policies, and almost all U.S. airlines have followed suit; what one does, the others seem to copy in relatively short order. For example, American Airlines has a "flex" face mask policy in that it will begin offering passengers face masks starting May 1 (that's tomorrow, by the way) but it will become a requirement by May 11.

Besides, did you know how dirty airlines were before? Bet you didn't! There are pluses to everything.

Starting February 1, 2021Face masks are now required for all travel within the United States, whether it be by train, air, bus, or any other form of transportation. Read more.
    Airline Face Mask Policy
Aeroflot Effective May 28, passengers will be required to wear face masks until further notice. Masks also must be replaced every 3 hours; crew will provide masks on hand if needed.

American Airlines Starting May 1, crew will be required to wear face masks. Customers will also be offered one; they will become a requirement on May 11.
Austrian Airlines Lufthansa Group universally announced passengers on all of its airlines will be required to wear a mask between May 4 to August 31.
Brussels Airlines Lufthansa Group universally announced passengers on all of its airlines will be required to wear a mask between May 4 to August 31.
Delta Airlines Starting May 4, passengers will be required to wear a face mask.
Eurowings Lufthansa Group universally announced passengers on all of its airlines will be required to wear a mask between May 4 to August 31.
Frontier Airlines Starting May 8, passengers will be required to wear a mask and the passenger will honor the health code in good faith.
JetBlue Starting May 4, passengers will be required to wear a face mask.
Lufthansa Lufthansa Group universally announced passengers on all of its airlines will be required to wear a mask between May 4 to August 31.
Qantas Starting June 12, masks will be offered to all passengers. The airline is not mandating them, though they are still recommended.
SWISS Air Lufthansa Group universally announced passengers on all of its airlines will be required to wear a mask between May 4 to August 31.
United Airlines Starting June 18, passengers will be required to wear a face mask. United the that policy to remain in place for at least 60 days (currently pegged at August 17, 2020).
