Need to ditch some weight really quick in order to make the suitcase limit?
An American Concierge Key member (American Airlines' crème de la crème, invite-only membership, similar to United's Global Services membership) recently offered this hot tip: Jeans weigh about a pound, so if weight is an issue, consider tossing it from the suitcase. It's a quick way to shed weight and gain space.
How much do jeans actually weigh? Reference.com (via Pharos Project) has this to say:
Lightweight jeans are less than 12 ounces, mid-weight jeans are from 12 to 16 ounces and heavyweight jeans are above 16 ounces.
Sounds about right.
But here's the rub: They're also the piece of clothing you're most likely to miss the most (as I discovered on a recent two-week trip). So, packing one for good measure may not be a bad idea.
Think about it hard (or wear the jeans on?).
