For Faster Airline Customer Service, Try Calling the International Call Center

    Published/Updated: Jul 3, 2025 · Erica Ho · Under a minute read

Never in my life have I waited more than nine hours trying to rebook a flight.

Not only does it pay to have every airline on speed dial, it also pays to have the international call center on handy. If the wait for customer service is insaaaanne, try hanging up and dialing the international line instead.

Here's a quick tip from CNN that we wish we had known about before waiting on the phone for a whopping 6 hours, 42 minutes and 48 seconds1:

Calls to US domestic numbers might have really long waits. Keyes suggested trying an international call center for your carrier instead.

"Most US-based travelers aren't thinking to call the Canadian help line for Delta. You might get through to an agent much quicker. They can all handle your reservations just the same."

    Here's to a much smoother 2022.

    1 footnote
    1. It was actually way worse than that, because we had to call multiple times. ↩
