Is it really necessary to have hotel housecleaning come every day? Maybe not.
But for your travel sanity and a smooth departure, if you’re going to do it, the best day to schedule housekeeping is for the day before you leave.
It makes sense on a few levels: First, hello, clean hotel room! Second, it clears everything out of the way, so you can see what you need to clearly pack.
It is kinda hard to see what you need to do if everything is everywhere. Add in the dirty linens and towels.
Most hotels have been slowly getting rid of daily housecleaning: It’s better for the environment, guests retain a measure of privacy, and not everyone is so gross that they need someone to pick up after them every day.
(Other than that, it is also a small, nice touch of luxury of otherwise not normally found in our daily lives.)
But, if there’s any day you’re going to take advantage of the service, there is one clear moment that makes the most sense.
