Part-Time Writer
Map Happy is looking for a part-time writer. This writer will be responsible for writing one story per week. The pay will be paid on a per piece basis and is commensurate with experience. This position will run from one to two months on a trial-to-perm basis. If this works out, there is significant room to grow for the right person. This is a freelance position.
In particular, we are looking for someone with extensive domestic/international travel experience and/or product testing experience. Knowledge in corporate travel, outdoors camping, hotel loyalty or car loyalty programs are a big plus. Travel history geeks welcome. Pitching will be an integral part of the job.
The blog is focused on practical (“best practices”) traveling. It is not a news-, destination- or narrative- focused publication. Our emphasis is on finding innovative solutions and gear for travelers. We are regularly syndicated in Lifehacker and have received coverage in publications like The Huffington Post, The Economist and CNN.

Public Relations Intern
The intern will be responsible for handling the blog's social media accounts. Among some of the responsibilities included are growing followers and maintaining a media database. This is a front-facing position that will require frequent contact with other editors. No writing duties are included. You must be based in NYC. A small stipend is included.
