Now You Can Netflix Binge at a Marriott All Day Long

Think Netflix. Now think Netflix plus big comfy hotel bed. Marriott has the answer.

Marriott Hotels is the first major hotel chain to announce that they will be offering Netflix in their rooms. Woo! This will be the first time this type of service is available in any major hotel. Guests will be able to log into the Netflix app from their guest room TVs. Sadly, it’s not free but I guess I could use my old roommate’s, mom’s, sister’s or cousin’s password…

Marriott didn’t leave any ends loose when it comes to security, either. The app will remember your account throughout your stay but all of that is cleared from your room on checking out. Easy and Netflix-highjacker free.

Here’s a list of Marriott hotels that already have Netflix per the press release:

  • New York Mariott East Side
  • San Jose Marriott
  • Princeton Marriott
  • Newport Marriott
  • Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana
  • Bethesda Marriott Suites

It’s also rolling out to more Marriott properties. Some to look out for this summer include Marriott Marquis Washington, DC, San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Dayton Marriott, San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino and Anaheim Marriott. There will be 100 hotel properties equipped by the end of 2015 and will spread to nearly all of its U.S. properties in the by the end of 2016.

The service is already available in other Marriott (non-branded) hotels across the U.S. On a recent trip to Miami Beach for Memorial Day I stayed at Marriott’s The Miami Beach EDITION, which was totally loaded up with Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO Go, etc. Sitting in bed. Hotel innovation at it’s finest.

UPDATE August 18, 2015: It’s official, now not only can you access Netflix but also subscriptions to Hulu Plus, YouTube, Pandora, and Crackle at select Marriott locations. Another first for in-room entertainment.
