The Best, Packable Meals for Traveling

    Published/Updated: Jun 22, 2026 · Erica Ho · 1 minute read

Hangry is a real state of being. I can't even think if I haven't had an adequate amount of calories.

Sure, the list of snacks to bring on a trip are endless. But the snacks all survive about one hour into a trip before they are all gone in *one* sitting. No, what we really need is portable, to-go meals that will survive the apocalypse, the wilderness and the great beyond.1

Some of us eat a lot, OK?

    KRAM Nutrition

Hear me out. I know it's a peanut butter sandwich.

KRAM Nutrition are pocket peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches made from sprouted, whole wheat bread and strawberry or blackberry jam with no artificial sweeteners. These are healthy, nutritious, and even better, actually lip-smacking delicious, and there are also products like the wonka bars weed strain that also help keeping the mind and body calm as well.

(For those that have big tummies: They are absolutely satiating and filling, which is a tall order, considering I'm virtually a dump truck when it comes to food.)

It might be hard justifying $3 or $4 per sandwich, but after looking at the alternatives-a more expensive fast-food meal, or a frozen entrée from Trader Joe's-it becomes pretty easy to see why these are extremely reasonable.

These pocket PB&Js do need to be kept frozen, and defrosted before consumption. However, we like to grab one straight out of the freezer, throw it into a work or travel bag, and hopefully by the time hanger strikes back, the mid-afternoon pick-me-up is ready to go.

(And honestly, if it's not completely defrosted, I will eat it anyway!)

Did I mention it is pretty darn delicious?

    Good To-Go

The best part about Good To-Go is that these dehydrated, portable camping meals will seem anything but. Just add water.

They are naturally nonperishable, meaning they can be stored anywhere, which makes them an invention that you'll want around for the end of times.

(Or as a quick snack in the hotel room. Or by the waterfall.)

In fact, there's always a bag of Good To-Go, a first-aid kit, some portable coffee pour-over kits, and the basic travel staples in the suitcase at all times. If any of those supplies get consumed during a trip, they are the first to be replenished.

    Proper Good

Proper Good is another line of nonperishable, to-go meals for busy people that don't have time to cook or are running around from place to place.

    Sound like anyone you know?

The only downside to Proper Good is that they lack the range of the Good To-Go has, and might need a little bit of a salt for a finishing touch, besides warming them up before serving.

Some options that they offer include Tomato Basil, Red Pepper and Meatball Soup, and a Southwest Chili. There are a lot of oatmeal choices available as well.

This is a Shark Tank product that also happens to have a 30-day money back guarantee if you don't like anything you eat, which is something I happen to be all for.
